1. Who we are
Hybrid Coach (the "Service") is operated by Christoph Kopka, a private individual based in Vienna, Austria, as a non-commercial hobby project. Operator details on the Imprint. By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
2. What the Service is
Hybrid Coach is a training planning and coaching tool for athletes
who run and lift. It generates periodised training plans using a
deterministic algorithm and provides chat-based coaching using
large language models. It is delivered as a web application at
app.hybridcoach.ai.
3. Beta status
The Service is currently in private beta. Access is by invitation. During the beta:
- The Service is provided free of charge.
- Features may change, break, or be removed without notice. We try not to, but it's a beta.
- We may pause, restart, or revert the Service at any time.
- Your data is yours. You can export it any time and request deletion at any time.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for any activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access: security@hybridcoach.ai.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The Service is not designed for minors and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal or harmful.
- Attempt to break, probe, or overload the Service. Security research is welcome via security@hybridcoach.ai.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Service output as part of a coaching business without prior written agreement.
- Submit data that doesn't belong to you, or data about other people without their consent.
6. Training advice disclaimer
Hybrid Coach provides training plans and coaching guidance, not medical advice. The Service is not a substitute for a physician, physiotherapist, or licensed coach. Training carries risk of injury.
You agree that:
- You are responsible for your own safety, technique, and recovery.
- You will consult a qualified medical professional before starting any training programme, particularly if you have a pre-existing condition, are returning from injury, are pregnant, or are over 60.
- You will adjust intensity to what your body actually allows on the day, and stop if something hurts.
7. Your data
You retain ownership of all training data, conversations, and profile information you provide. We process it under our Privacy Policy. By submitting data to the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the Service to you.
You can export your data at any time and request deletion at any time via privacy@hybridcoach.ai.
8. AI-generated content
Some of the Service's output — coach chat replies, plan rationale, workout descriptions — is generated by large language models. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or inconsistent. Treat it as a qualified suggestion, not a professional prescription. The training plan structure itself (volume, phasing, taper, lift progression) is generated deterministically from a methodology contract — that part doesn't hallucinate.
9. Intellectual property
The Service software, design, and content (excluding your data) are our property and are protected by copyright. You don't acquire any rights in our software by using the Service.
10. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time via Settings or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use rules — we'll tell you why and give you a chance to fix it unless the breach is severe or illegal.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Austrian law, our liability is limited to direct damages caused by gross negligence or wilful misconduct. We are not liable for: indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, lost training time, injuries arising from following Service guidance (see clause 6), or third-party services (Garmin, Azure, etc.) being unavailable.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for personal injury or death caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Austrian law.
12. Changes to these Terms
When we change anything material, we'll email registered users with reasonable notice. Continuing to use the Service after that notice means you accept the new Terms.
13. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by Austrian law, excluding the UN Convention on the International Sale of Goods. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Vienna, Austria, except where mandatory consumer protection rules require otherwise.
EU consumers can use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. We do not participate in alternative dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
